The Rune Wars

Centuries ago, magical artifacts chosen "World Runes" were discovered. In the decades that followed, knowledge of the Runes began to spread as more were unearthed. The world's brightest minds studied the ancient glyphs, attempting to determine the powers they possessed. Few could fifty-fifty begin to understand the importance of their origins or the sheer power held inside them. Some surmised that the Runes were integral to the creation of Runeterra itself. The first use of these mysterious artifacts proved catastrophic, as they reshaped the landscape of entire nations. Mistrust chop-chop grew as those who knew of the Runes imagined such "Makers' Might" being used as a weapon. Conflicts related to these magical artifacts were known equally the Rune Wars.

Open warfare raged across Runeterra. The get-go horrors of the Rune Wars sparked fearfulness and aggression among those who now realized the ability at their control. Ryze and his master, Tyrus, sought to lock away every World Rune beyond the reach of homo for the protection of Runeterra. Some complied with their pleas, while others dismissed them due to their newfound powers and influence. After an incident with Tyrus, Ryze continued his journey alone in gathering all Runic artifacts and so as to foreclose another Rune State of war from starting and possibly destroying the globe.

Rune Pages

A player tin have a maximum of 25 custom rune pages, which are separate from the v preset rune pages that cannot be edited nor deleted. Players of levels 1 to 9 cannot create nor edit rune pages. New accounts accept 3 empty rune pages, additional pages are purchased in the store for 590 or 6300 .

Any Rune Pages the player endemic in the previous organization were transferred across to the new system, in addition to the bounty received.

It is non possible to enter a lucifer without an active, valid rune page. In such instance, the game will automatically substitute with a preset page upon game beginning.

Rune paths

Runes are divided into five paths:

Each rune page contains runes from two paths: one primary and ane secondary. The primary path has one keystone and three lesser runes. The secondary path has two bottom runes. Substitutions

During evolution, Precision and Sorcery were originally going to be Main path only.^[4]
Runes are referred to internally as "perks".^[5]
Runes and their surrounding areas accept singled-out visual appearances which bear similarities to certain Runeterran factions. This may be intentional in order to reverberate the location of the World Runes:
The following statements generalize the changes fabricated to compensate for the loss of Advert from Marks and Health/Armor from Seals, which were almost unanimously used due to the lack of options (and thus the game has been balanced, for example, around about champions having +9 Armor from Seals).
